Construction for the Las Vegas Ballpark in Summerlin is coming along nicely, and with workers placing down sod for the brand new field. It will be the new home to the Las Vegas Aviators, formerly known as the Las Vegas 51’s.

The team’s home opener is set for April 9. Tickets for that game sold out within the first half hour of opening sales.

There are still plenty of tickets for other games throughout the season. The Aviators are keeping lower-tier ticket prices between $12 and $18, with the aim of allowing more fans to experience the game. There's also free parking, which means more money for snacks.

The team is expected to bring a positive economic impact to the area, as many visitors will head over to shops and restaurants in Downtown Summerlin. There is also a partnership for visiting teams to stay at Red Rock Resort and Casino.

This is the 37th year for the organization but the first year the team has been affiliated with the Oakland A’s. The stadium is right next door to City National Arena, the practice facility for The Vegas Golden Knights, creating a great space for sports in Summerlin.
