UPDATE:CCSD Superintendent Jara explains goals in reorganization plan

ORIGINAL STORY:

CCSD has announced plans to split into three regions. It'll still be one school district, but each region will operate under its own regional superintendent.

Superintendent Dr. Jesus F. Jara announced on Monday that six new leaders will serve under the direction of three regional superintendents.

The reorganization was first pitched last December. The move will reportedly save the district $1.5 million.

CCSD School Associate Superintendent Grant Hanevold will oversee region one, which includes North Las Vegas, Indian Springs, Moapa and Mesquite.

Debbie Brockett, currently the CCSD Franchise Principal at Las Vegas High School and Duane D. Keller Middle School, will oversee region two. This region encompasses kids in Summerlin, Blue Diamond, Goodsprings and Sandy Valley.

Dr. Karla Loria, a student support officer from Colorado, will oversee region three. Region three includes Henderson, Boulder City, Searchlight, Laughlin and east Las Vegas.
