A political group says it's started the petition process as it seeks to recall Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak.

The conservative group Fight for Nevada says it has filed a notice of intent and would start collecting signatures to recall Sisolak on Saturday, Feb. 15.

The group argues the governor signed laws without voter approval on a number of issues, including gun control, well-meters, contraceptives and marijuana testing.

A recall petition would require around 244,000 valid signatures, equal to at least 25% of the 976,320 people who voted in Nevada's general election in 2018.

Fight for Nevada says it will collect signatures around Nevada, with most petitions located in rural counties.

The petition must be filed within 90 days of the notice of intent filing.
