The post-Memorial Day exodus to Southern California is causing a lengthy Interstate 15 backup.

As of 10:25 a.m., traffic on I-15 headed to California was in a 17-mile backup from the Nevada-California state line almost all the way to Sloan.

Traffic is moving at about 9-12 mph in the area.

The Regional Transportation Commission is urging motorists to prepare for long delays.

Between Boulder City and Henderson, traffic on U.S. 95 southbound has been briefly stopped because of congestion.

Check back for possible updates.
