"I did some crazy stuff, some dangerous stuff I probably shouldn't have done, but I've said it from the start since taking off from home, God was with me. He's really been guiding me. It's been a blessing," said Taylor Powell.

Powell says he will remember these past few days for the rest of his life. It started with a Facebook post. Cody Bishop's mother Jennifer shared pictures of her son seven months apart. She hadn't spoken to her son in weeks and was worried about his addiction living on the Las Vegas streets.

Powell was backpacking across the country to raise awareness on homelessness. But when he saw those photos of Cody, he had another mission: finding him.

"I've never pushed my body in my entire life to the extent I've pushed it to find Cody," said Powell.

The search wasn't easy. It was physically demanding, dangerous and rough. Taylor, along with Las Vegas resident Donna, searched tunnels, talked to those on the streets, and spent little money he had on tips to find Cody.

"Looking back, it was a miracle that I got him at all. Let alone in three days," he said.

But then Powell got his break. He was at Winchester Park when he saw a man that looked like Cody. While it wasn't him, the man said he just missed the real Cody two minutes before on his bike. Powell jumped into Donna's car.

"I got back in the vehicle and took off," he said. "Well, I saw him go in the opposite direction, so I didn't really realize what I did, so I jumped out of her car while it was moving, ran across a busy intersection, and ran him down on foot."

Then, the moment Cody's friends, family, and the internet was waiting for--Cody was found.

"I can't thank them enough. There's nothing I could do to ever repay them," said Jennifer Tracy, Cody's mom.

She says Donna and Powell will always be a part of her family now. She says Cody is doing well in rehab and is sharing his journey with the world on his own Facebook page, Cody Bishop's Road to Recovery.

Tracy says Cody is also looking forward to helping others once he gets better. She says this post has touched thousands across the globe, as others have messaged her asking for help.

But Powell says if you take anything away from this story, know this: There are other Codys on the street who also need our love and compassion.

" I just want to make sure everyone is aware---these are people. These are sons, daughters, mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, and they have family out there that love them," he said.
