LAS VEGAS (KSNV/AP) — A woman was wounded in a domestic shooting at a Las Vegas bank, and police chased and shot at an armed suspect who surrendered more than two hours later near a busy crossroads on the city’s west side, authorities said Wednesday.
The man who was arrested was not wounded by police gunfire during the foot chase about 9:20 a.m. along busy Rainbow Boulevard from about Spring Mountain to Desert Inn roads, police said.
The person wounded at the bank was hospitalized in what Capt. Steve Connell called stable condition.
Officer Alejandra Zambrano characterized the initial shooting as a domestic attack.
Police said an officer fired at least one gunshot during the chase on Rainbow Boulevard and the suspect initially refused to surrender before he was arrested near a business complex where some people were evacuated as a precaution.
The identity of the officer who opened fire will be released in 48 hours, per Las Vegas Metropolitan Police's protocol.
