People are building, decorating floats, and getting ready for the Las Vegas Pride.

This year, the celebration is happening at a new spot.

“We will be moving from Sunset Park, and we’ll be downtown at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center,” said Las Vegas Pride President Brady McGill.

McGill says this year there are more than 150 entries in the parade including The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada.

It's an organization that just last year, chose not to participate in pride for what they claim was because of many reasons, including a lack of inclusivity.

This year, that’s not the case.

“To really repair that partnership and understand where there were some miscommunications,” McGill said.

Dr. Ray Macfarlane with The Center is looking forward to Pride and linking people to resources.

“We also have a trans resource area on display to promote trans owned businesses and resources for the trans community. They get the information and come in, it’s definitely rewarding to, to be able to connect them and give support to the community,” Macfarlane said.

McGill just wants everyone to feel welcomed.

“We are excited to have such great support and such long-running return people coming back year after year,” McGill said.
