A suspect has been arrested for the murder of a 24-year-old Las Vegas woman earlier this week, according to police.

Steven Clifford, 25, was re-booked Wednesday on suspicion of open murder after he was arrested on unrelated charges, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

Officers responded to a report of gunfire heard in an apartment complex in the 2200 block of West Bonanza Road on Monday, July 15.

They found a woman lying in an apartment with a gunshot wound, and she was pronounced dead at the scene, according to LVMPD.

The Clark County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Savannah Anne Millner, and detectives learned she had been arguing with Clifford, her boyfriend.

The circumstances of the shooting were still unclear Monday night, according to police, but they worked with the coroner's office and established probable cause to re-book Clifford on suspicion of murder.

No other details on the investigation were released. Court records indicated Clifford is being held without bail, and that he also faces drug charges from 2018.
