LAS VEGAS (KSNV) - Now former Ms. Nevada State 2019 Katie Williams accused the Ms. America pageant of political bias after she was stripped of her title, saying the organization only acted because she is a Trump supporter.

In an almost eight-minute video posted to Facebook on Monday, Williams says that on Sunday, Aug. 18, she was officially disqualified from competing in the Ms. America Pageant 2019.

She says in the video that coordinators contacted her before taking the title away, telling her that she was “too political” and requesting that she delete “everything.”

It’s clear from Williams’ profile page that she is a supporter of President Donald Trump.

However, the pageant responded to Williams’ accusations on Tuesday, saying she is distorting the facts.

The pageant says that the rules of the competition include limitations on contestants from making their political beliefs known on pageant-related accounts or engagements.

According to the organization’s site, the “Ms. America Pageant is a No Politics Pageant.”
