The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reports that the victim in Sunday's collision near Las Vegas Boulevard and Warm Springs Road was intentionally struck by a vehicle.

"Sorry to hear that like it’s surprising because people don’t do that normally, that’s not a normal reaction to nothing," said Sean Thompkins who lives in the area.

The collision took place in the parking lot of Manor Suites at 5:50 a.m. on Sunday. LVMPD says that the driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

"It happens everywhere but when it happens right around where you stay, it shocks you," said Ted Turner.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was sent to UMC in critical condition.

Police have been to the area before. Back in 2014, a woman was shot by police at the same location after officers found her attacking another woman with a knife.

The victim in that incident survived while the suspect shot by police later died at the hospital.

This latest incident where Turner lives is upsetting.

“It’s the community you know trying to keep it safe don’t nobody want to hurt nobody,” he said.

Police have not yet arrested anybody in connection to the incident. No information about the suspect is currently available.
