Officers shot and wounded a robbery suspect early Friday morning in the Summerlin area after he pulled a gun from his car, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.

Officers were investigating a series of armed robberies Thursday, May 30, and identified a man and woman as suspects, LVMPD said in a statement.

They found the man and woman shortly after midnight Friday at a gas station in the 1200 block of Town Center Drive, just south of Summerlin Parkway, according to police.

As the officers approached them, the man took out a gun from his car, and several officers opened fire, hitting him.

The man was taken to UMC, and police say his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The woman also suffered what police describe as minor injuries, and she was taken to UMC as well.

This is LVMPD's ninth officer-involved shooting of 2019.
