Public invited to trade guns for gift cards in North Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — People can turn in guns with no questions asked Saturday in North Las Vegas.

Iron Sharpens Iron Mentoring is hosting the event at First AME Church on 2446 Revere St., near Carey and MLK Boulevard, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Organizers say people can drop off guns and receive $50 to $200 depending on the type of firearm and quality.

The event is only open to people turning in weapons, and those attending should make sure the firearm is unloaded and stored in a plastic bag inside the car. An officer will remove the gun from the car, according to organizers.
