LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A study published by YourLocalSecurity.com found that, according to FBI’s annual crime data, North Las Vegas sees the most robberies out of every city in Nevada.
According to the study, the FBI defines robbery as “taking or attempting to take anything of value form the care, custody or control of a person or persons by force or threat of violence and/or putting the victim in fear.”
The study found that North Las Vegas sees almost 24 robberies per 10,000 people a year.

As the fourth largest city in Nevada, and a population of 242,975 people, according to the World Population Review, that makes for well over 500 robberies per year.
Still, compared to the entire country, North Las Vegas is 42nd among the most robbed cities in each state.

The most robbed city in America is Baltimore with nearly 96 robberies per 10,000 people while Boise is at the bottom of the list about two robberies per 10,000 people.
Some tips to avoid being robbed include not keeping valuables in your car, carry a whistle or walk with someone when traveling on foot and be cautious when posting about any new purchases on social media.
