Two Las Vegas residents charged for stealing explosives from mining company

On Friday, Aug. 7, two men from Las Vegas were officially indicted by a grand jury for allegedly stealing explosives from a mining company.

Named in the indictment are 34-year-old Sergio Bautista (aka Ismael Cueva-Flores) and 54-year-old Eric Golden, both felons.

Documents state that from during the dates of May 12 and May 13, Bautista and Golden conspired to steal and then stole a 50-pound bag of ammonium nitrate fuel oil, which is used as an industrial explosive. They also stole 18 one-kilogram sticks of ammonium nitrate.

All of this, they stole from Las Vegas-based Hinton Mining, LLC.

Both individuals are convicted felons with prior convictions including the possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, identity theft, trafficking a controlled substance and conspiracy to commit grand larceny.

They face one count each of stealing explosive materials, felon in possession of explosives and one count of possessing stolen explosives.

A jury trial is scheduled for Sept. 28.

They face up to 30 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
