Crews were able to rescue a woman and baby from a house fire where they also found 41 dogs early Tuesday morning, according to fire officials.

Firefighters were called around 1:10 a.m. to a home on Beca Faith Drive, near MLK Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue, the North Las Vegas Fire Department said.

Two people were reportedly trapped, and firefighters were able to put up a ladder to the second floor to rescue a woman and a 1-month-old baby.

They were taken to UMC and were being treated for smoke inhalation, the fire department said.

Crews also found 41 dogs at the scene. Those dogs were taken to The Animal Foundation. Officials initially said there were 42 dogs before correcting their report.

The fire remains under investigation.
