LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Mint 400 is this weekend in Primm, Nevada.
Named after the Mint Hotel in downtown Las Vegas, which is now a part of Binion's, the Great American Off-Road Race will forever be linked to Hunter S. Thompson’s book "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas," as well as to the man who gave Hunter his press pass, K.J. Howe.
At the time, Howe was the Mint 400 race director and also competed in it.
At 81-years-old, he'll race in it again on Saturday.
