WATCH: UFC fighter gets compared to Spurs great Tim Duncan
SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio will be the center of the UFC world as UFC San Antonio will take place Saturday night.
The main event will pit Rafael dos Anjos takes on Leon Edwards and Edwards is getting comparisons to San Antonio Spurs legend Tim Ducan.
During a discussion about the upcoming fight in San Antonio on ESPN's "Ariel & The Bad Guy," the reasons why Edwards is like Duncan as far as style was given.
Let me tell you a story about a man they used to call The Big Fundamental. His name - Tim Duncan.
He was great. All he did was win.
It is so amazing to me that Leon Edwards who may just be the "Tim Duncan" of the UFC right now is fighting in San Antonio.
That's some high praise for Edwards considering the Hall of Fame career had in the NBA.
However, Duncan has been hitting the gloves since retirement. He has been training with San Antonio fitness guru Jason Echols.
But the chances of Duncan fighting in the UFC octagon are very low.
UFC San Antonio is set for July 20 at the AT&T Center at 8:00 P.M.
