Dog rescued in structure fire in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — A dog was rescued in a structure fire on Candlelight Drive in Springfield Monday evening.

According to a Facebook post, crews were dispatched around 7 p.m.

Firefighters reported smoke coming from the building and the fire was located in the kitchen.

Crews searched three floors of the structure before giving the all-clear.

One dog was rescued from the fire and firefighters were still giving aid to dogs around 7:20 p.m.
