OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) - UPDATE: OKC Police have arrested the man who crashed into U.S. Senate candidate Abby Broyles on August 12.

Abby Broyles campaign team announced that she is in concussion protocol following being checked out by doctors on Monday.

“We are so thankful for the outpouring of support we’ve received for Abby today,” said Tyler Maxwell, Campaign Manager for the Broyles campaign. “She’s resting at home, recovering, and our main concern is making sure she doesn’t rush back too fast - something she is ready to do but doctors have told her to take some time.”

According to police reports Broyles was traveling northbound in the inside lane of Pawnee Drive. The other vehicle was traveling eastbound on Memorial Road.

Broyles told officers that she came to the intersection of Pawnee Drive and West Memorial Road and once the light turned green she proceeded to enter the intersection.

While going through the intersection the front bumper of the other vehicle struck the rear driver-side panel of Broyles' car.

After the collision, the other car left the scene and continued eastbound on Memorial.

Police don't know the make or model of the other car, but they say it was silver.
