2 shot dead inside Phoenix residence; no arrests made

Two men were found with fatal gunshot wounds inside a residence in Phoenix on Sunday night, and no arrest had been made as of Monday, police said.

Police had been called to the home on reports of shots fired just before 10 p.m. Sunday.

The residence southwest of 16th Street and Thomas Road had an open front door, and officers found one bloody victim as soon as they entered, according to Sgt. Jonathan Howard, a Phoenix police spokesman. The second victim was found in a search of the residence.

Fire crews pronounced both men dead at the scene. Their identities were not immediately released Monday morning.
