18-year-old Fabian Delgado.

An 18-year-old Coronado High School student was arrested for Wednesday on suspicion of posting an apparent threat against the school on social media, Scottsdale police said.

Scottsdale police said Fabian Delgado recently posted a photo of himself holding what appeared to be an assault rifle with the caption, "don't go to school tomorrow" on social media.

School resource officers were alerted by district officials earlier on Wednesday, police said.

Delgado was contacted and asked about his intentions, at which point he told officials the weapon was an air soft rifle and not an actual assault weapon, police said.

Delgado said he had no intentions of committing violence toward any students or school staff, police said.

Police and school officials said the post "resulted in the disruption of the school environment."

Delgado was booked on a count of disorderly conduct.
