Chandler police: Real-estate agent suspected of burglarizing listed homes

An East Valley real-estate agent was arrested Thursday on suspicion stealing jewelry from several homes that were for sale, Chandler police said. 

Paul Stolarik, 35, of Queen Creek, was arrested on five counts of second-degree burglary, police said.

Investigators discovered that Stolarik had entered five house for sale that had been burglarized in Chandler, Gilbert and Mesa, according to police.

Court documents submitted by police after his arrest states Stolarik would schedule an open house showing, access the key through the lockbox with his code, and then proceeded to steal from the residents.  

After being interviewed by police, Stolarik admitted to the theft of "expensive jewelry" from the master bedrooms of the houses he showed, according to court documents.  

While admitting to the thefts, Stolarik said that "60 to 70 percent" of the houses he had shown were for legitimate purposes, according to court documents.

Four of the burglaries occurred in December and one in August 2016, according to court documents.
