A male pedestrian is in the hospital with "life-threatening" injuries after an accident in Tempe late Thursday night, according to police.
Police said officers and Tempe Fire Medical Rescue responded to the incident near Loop 202 Red Mountain and Scottsdale Road around 10:30 p.m. Police said the 23-year-old man was crossing the road mid-block outside a crosswalk.
The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital, police said. The driver stayed on scene and impairment and speed are not factors for the driver, according to police. Police added the pedestrian was impaired.
