One person was wounded in a shooting at an apartment complex in Phoenix on Monday, and police have arrested a suspect, officials said.
Police said the two men, neither of whom live at the complex near Indian School Road and 19th Avenue, got into a fight at about 8:10 a.m.
Sgt. Vince Lewis, a spokesman for the Phoenix Police Department, said the two men were "involved in an exchange" when one of the men pepper-sprayed the other. The man who was pepper sprayed then shot the other man, striking him at least once, Lewis said.
The man with a gunshot wound was transported to a hospital, Lewis said. He is expected to survive. The other man has been arrested.
