Saturday in the Park, the famous 70s song by Chicago, is also the August 10 outdoor concert at the Sunrise Theater.

The concert will be held on the First Bank Stage at the Sunrise beginning at 7 p.m. and will feature Chi-Town Transit Authority, a Chicago tribute band. Chi-Town will be playing hits including “25 or 6 to 4”, “You’re the Inspiration”, “Does Anybody Really Know “What Time It Is”, “Make Me Smile”, and many more of Chicago’s greatest hits.

Sunrise’s Saturday in the Park will be a unique experience – VIP tickets are $35 and include premium seating close to the stage, a custom Sunrise chair to keep, and exclusive access to a special VIP concessions area.

Lawn seating is $18 and guests are reminded to bring a chair or blanket. No coolers or dogs will be permitted at the concert.

This fun and family-friendly event is sponsored by the Ironwood Café.

Chicago is an American rock band that started in Chicago, Illinois in 1967. They have recorded 36 albums, sold over 100,000,000 records, and are one of the best-selling music groups of all time.

Chi-Town Transit Authority is an Atlanta-based ensemble band. They’re an eclectic group of incredibly talented musicians who are all big fans of Chicago, the “rock band with horns”. They have earned a loyal following by successfully emulating the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band they so respect.

Chi-Town musicians include Chris Horton on trumpet, Laurence Cohen on trombone, Thom Jenkins (graduate of Western Carolina University) on sax, Michael Cahen on guitar, Eric Gant on bass guitar, Tom Davis on drums, and Asher McKinney on keyboard.

Tickets to Saturday in the Park are available online at the SunriseTheater.com, at the Sunrise Theater office, or by calling 910-692-3611. And if the weather doesn’t cooperate, the concert will be moved inside.
