Frank Blake and John Schuerholz became the newest Georgia Trustees on Saturday evening at the annual Georgia Historical Society Trustees Gala. The two were chosen for their "commitment to the common good and their insistence on putting others first." It is the highest honor the state of Georgia can confer.

Blake served as chairman and CEO of The Home Depot for seven years and chairman through Jan. 2015. He served in a variety of executive roles including deputy counsel to Vice President George H.W. Bush and law clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens.

Schuerholz has had a long career in Major League Baseball, much of it as part of the Atlanta Braves organization as president and vice-chairman.

The trustees were presented by U.S. Sen. David Perdue.
