Record wants you all to know that long before the English media had even heard of Joao Felix, the Portuguese newspaper was explaining about interest from Manchester United.

The Premier League club not only scout Benfica matches repeatedly, rarely missing a game of the Lisbon club, whether it be home or away, but they also scout Benfica’s B team and youth categories.

Given the amount of scouting, Manchester United will be very aware of the youngster.

On Sunday, Record explain they’ve long reported how the Old Trafford club and PSG are ‘sharks’ looking to complete a deal for the 19 year old, and anything being claimed in England goes on from this.

They make clear that despite these two clubs getting the most attention in England right now, there’s also serious interest from Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Joao Felix has a €120m release clause, and the messages coming from Benfica are that this will be the fee needed for a transfer.

We’re not so sure on that.

If a package heavily weighted with bonus payments, similar to the Anthony Martial model, is built then Benfica will certainly have something to think about. The headline figure would likely need to be €100m+, especially if bonuses make up a big part of that.
