Shad Suk Mynsiem celebrated in Nongstoin

NONGSTOIN: Thousands witnessed the colourful traditional thanksgiving dance festival, ‘Shad Suk Mynsiem’ here on Monday.
As many as 239 dancers, 123 maidens and 116 men, from across West Khasi Hills took part in the traditional dance.
The ‘Shad Suk Mynsiem’ also known as the Spring Festival was organised by the Seng Khasi, West Khasi Hills. It concluded here with hundreds belonging to the ‘Niam Khasi’ faith clad in traditional attire, dancing to the beat of the drums and tangmuri to thank God for all His blessings. The Shad Suk Mynsiem attracted dancers from across West Khasi Hills so much so that the venue of the event seemed a little congested.
The Shad Suk Mynsiem is by far the biggest and most colourful festival witnessed in West Khasi Hills.
