CHENNAI: With TTV Dhinakaran flexing muscles and threatening to destabilise the
AIADMK government by enticing 21 MLAs to his camp, the ruling dispensation led by CM
Edappadi K Palaniswami and his deputy O Panneerselvam is going on the offensive. The EPS-OPS camp has convened a meeting of party MPs, MLAs and headquarters and district secretaries on Monday to decide the modalities of removing
V K Sasikala from the party general secretary post.
The meet, to be attended by close to 250 functionaries, will also decide on convening the next general council.
Being a party forum, the meeting will be chaired by AIADMK's steering committee coordinator and deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam. Chief minister
Palaniswami is the joint coordinator of the committee. "At the time of merger of both the factions, we had decided that
Sasikala would be removed from the general secretary post. We need to decide on the modalities of doing that. We will also convene the general council shortly," said a senior minister, seeking anonymity.
