A most talented and young keyboardist Sathya will present ‘Music Yoga’ a piano composition curated out seven classical ragas – “one of each chakra of your body." "Each raga takes its inspiration one of the seven chakras (energy centres in the body believed to govern one’s mental and physical properties) – from Muladhara to Sahasrara,” says Sathya.
The concert will mark 16 years of a flourishing career for Sathya, who is just 22.
Backing him up and playing alongside him will be Staccato, a Chennai-based band that performed at the London Olympics in 2012.
In addition to Music Yoga, the concert will also feature Kabir and Meera bhajans and timeless Ilaiyaraaja classics, which Sathya will perform with his mother, a member of the maestro’s orchestra for 32 years. The concert will be held on September 3 at Mylapore Fine Arts at 6.45pm. Training course in forensic psychology to be held in Chennai
