CHENNAI: When AIADMK (Amma) leader T T V Dhinakaran was meeting governor
C Vidyasagar Rao with a list of MLAs and MPs supporting him, a senior legislator, who earlier presented a letter to governor withdrawing his support to chief minister
Edappadi K Palaniswami, returned to his fold.
Cumbum AIADMK MLA S T
K Jakkaiyan met speaker P Dhanapal and later met the
EPS group leaders and shifted allegiance to the chief minister.
“Yes I was part of the delegation which withdrew support to the chief minister but in the last 12 days, I came to know that DMK is trying to use the division in AIADMK totopple the government. This government was formed by Amma, who wanted the party to firmly hold the government reins," said Jakkaiyan.
The party was started by MGR and
nurtured by Jayalalithaa. “I did not want to be a part of the group that is teaming up with DMK. That is why I shifted my loyalty," said Jakkaiyan.
“There may be several problems within the AIADMK family but we will have to resolve these issues among us,” he said, adding that he met speaker Dhanapal as he wanted to meet all 19 MLAs. “I told him I supported the chief minister," said Jakkaiyan.
