Pedestrian killed in truck accident

Ponda: Resident of Gawaliwada in Mollem, Ramu Karwar, 56, was knocked down and killed by a truck while crossing the road on Thursday. He had just alighted from a passenger bus. “A Rajasthan registered truck was speeding and rammed into him in an attempt to overtake another halted passenger bus,” police said.
The truck drove over his leg leading to his death on the spot, police added.
The body has been preserved at the Goa Medical College for an autopsy to be conducted on Friday. A case of rash and negligent driving was registered against the truck driver.
