HYDERABAD: Indian women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj posted a revealing selfie and a hot debate is now raging over her dressing. A fan who wanted the Hyderabadi cricketer to remove the picture from her Twitter got trolled for being narrow in his thinking. The post has gone viral and hundreds of people commented asking that Mithali not be pestered for what she wore.
Someone who called himself ‘NoOne’ asked her to delete it saying, ‘It's not good! People idolize you.” He conveyed that the dressing sense was not appropriate.
A large number of people did stand with ‘NoOne’ for his comment. However, he got trolled for the comment.
Reacting to it, one Ambalika Guha‏ asked: “Virat can undress him.so why she should not? Just because of she is woman? Others countries women players are more open then her. Understood?” (sic)
The group pic with three friends that Mithali posted has got a record 526 retweets with 9.4 lakh likes and 765 comments. The cricketer makes it a point shares her photographs on twitter regularly with her 224k followers.
If the revealing pic of Mithali Raj has gone viral, the cricketer, elegant in a saree, has been received well by her fans as 11k people liked it and it was retweeted 652 times with 449 comments.
Mithali chose not to respond to any of the comments about an unusual photograph she shared. While the debate continued to rage, a friend of Mithali who was also in the picture reacted in her defense.
“Useless comments on Mithali Raj’s pic once again showcase the problem of increasing unemployment in the country. Sigh!” one Ritesh commented.
Retweeting this, Kaura Afshan who was in the pic with Mithali Raj responded with a cryptic, “True story.”
