Two girls found dead in Etawah, sexual assault suspected

KANPUR: Two teenager girls were found dead in Kwari river in Sahson area of Etawah district on Tuesday.
The police have identified the body of a girl as of Yogita, a dalit, daughter of Narendra Kumar Paswan, a native of Chirana village in Kanpur Dehat district, while the identity of the second girl could not be ascertained till the time of filing this report.
The bodies of the two girls were found floating in Kwari river in Sahson area in Etawah district on Tuesday.
The locals spotted the bodies and informed the police officials.
Post-mortem of one of the body, which was identified as that of Yogita was conducted while other body has been been preserved at the district hospital.
Vaibhav Krishna, senior superintendent of police, Etawah said, "The post-mortem on Yogita's body was conducted on Wednesday, while the second body, which is yet to be identified has been preserved. It will be kept at the mortuary for nearly 72 hours for its identification. Post-mortem report of Yogita, meanwhile, indicated that the assailants had hit on the right side of her head with a blunt object. We have also made a slide of her vaginal swab and sent it for laboratory test to ascertain whether she was subjected to sexual assault or not."

Yogita along with her two classmates — Lakshmi daughter of Om Prakash of Sharma Mohal locality and Himani daughter of Triloki Singh of Fatehpur Roshnai village had gone missing under mysterious circumstances while they had gone to their school in the locality in Rania area of Kanpur Dehat on September 11.
The third girl is said to be still missing.
The Kanpur Dehat police have registered a kidnapping and murder case against unidentified persons on the complaint of Yogita's parents and started investigations in the case.
