Rajnath Singh said on Tuesday that to further ease traffic congestion, Rs 81crore has been sanctioned to open second entry to
Charbagh railway station from Cantonment side.
The work on it would begin soon, he said. Speaking at the launch of
Lucknow Metro, Singh shared that construction of 104km outer
ring road had begun and would be completed in three years.
“If Atalji (who was Lucknow MP) gave Shaheed Path to Lucknow, I'm giving outer ring road to the city,“ he said.Singh had promised the outer ring road after becoming Lucknow MP . About other projects, Rajnath said the city would get seven new flyovers which would further reduce traffic snarls. Similarly , Rs 530 crore has been sanctioned for Gomtinagar railway terminal. Six platforms would be built at Gomtinagar terminal and work on two platforms is under way , the home minister said. The home minister also said that four new railway tracks were being laid to cut waiting time of trains on the outer before entering Charbagh station, and added that approval had been given for converting Alamnagar into a satellite station.
