A woman was shot and killed by her husband in Marshfield Monday night, according to authorities.

Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said the woman called 911 just after 5:30 p.m. to report that her soon-to-be-ex-husband, Adam Warner, was chasing her in a car.

Cruz said Marshfield police responded to the scene on Main Street and found a woman with apparent injuries to her face.

The woman, whose name was not released, was taken to South Shore Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The Marshfield Police Department tweeted that the shooter was last seen in the area of ABC Equipment along Route 3A.

“Please stay away from area and stay inside and lock your doors,” police noted on social media just before 6:40 p.m.

As of 11 p.m., the suspect remained at large.

“The state police are requesting help from the public in locating Mr. Warner,” Cruz said, adding that the suspect is believed to be driving a grey 2013 Toyota Corolla with Massachusetts license plates 4FSZ80. “He is to be considered armed and dangerous. If anybody comes in contact with him, please call 911 immediately. Do not approach him.”

The investigation is ongoing, Cruz said.
