LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WACH) – A 19-year-old Gaston man now faces 25 years in prison for a 2017 armed robbery, according to the Eleventh Circuit Court Solicitor Rick Hubbard.

Jaren Bernard-Alan Meyers pleaded guilty to armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping, criminal conspiracy and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The charges stem from Meyers, and two others, committing a string of armed robberies in Lexington and Richland County, according to Hubbard.

Meyers was found to be the man carrying the gun and giving verbal commands to two employees during one armed robbery at the Dollar General on Charleston Highway Dec. 30, 2017. One of the others then grabbed the money form the register and the third person was the driver.

The group later went on to rob the Exxon on Elmwood Avenue, the Waffle House on Sunset Boulevard and the McDonald's on Garners Ferry Road.

Hubbard said Meyers and two others then led Lexington County deputies on a high-speed chase before Meyer’s arrest.

Meyers was also later determined to be involved in two other Lexington County robberies with another person Dec. 24 and Dec. 26 of 2017.
