Suspect sought after bank robbed in Jacksonville

Jacksonville Police are seeking the public's help after a bank was robbed on Thursday afternoon.

Police responded to a call of an armed robbery at around 4 p.m. at First Citizens Bank at 302 B Western Boulevard in Jacksonville. A masked man entered the bank and handed a note to the teller. The suspect left on foot in an unknown direction. Nobody was injured.

“We are in the early steps of this investigation and could use the assistance of the public in identifying the subject in the surveillance images” said Captain Mike Capps, supervisor of the JPD Investigative Services Division.

The man is described as a while male, over 6 feet tall. At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark colored hoodie, dark pants, a white hospital/medical mask and gray ball cap with the “H” Hurley insignia.

Anyone with information about the suspect or incident is asked to call Jacksonville Police at (910) 455-4000 or Crime Stoppers at (910) 938-3273. Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards of up to $2,500 for information determined to be of value to law enforcement. Callers to Crime Stoppers are not required to reveal their identities.
