Hurricane Florence hit Trenton Elementary School in Jones County pretty hard.

The school was heavily damaged and lost every book in its library. But on Friday, that all changed. A private school in Richmond, Va., donated 6,000 books to the school. Good Shepherd Episcopal School just recently received a grant that gives it a new library with new books.

Members of the school loaded up their older books and drove them to Comfort Elementary where they will be housed until Trenton Elementary School is back open.

"When we got the grant and start separating the collection, (executive assistant Carol Bowen) said 'what are you going to do with those books?' I said 'I have no idea.' She said 'I have an idea'," said Ken Seward of Good Shepherd Episcopal School.

Librarian Cheryl Heath is happy to take the books. She shared these pictures with us, showing us the damage to the Trenton library.
