BRISTOL, Tenn. — A man charged with statutory rape supervised two children alone, according to the Bristol Tennessee Police Department.
Marbin Wellons, 28, was indicted by a Sullivan Country grand jury and charged with statutory rape by an authority figure, attempted statutory rape by an authority figure and sexual contact by an authority figure. Authorities said Wellons "occasionally supervised the children alone."
Investigators said the crimes occurred in 2016 and that they were alerted of the crimes in July and began an investigation.
Wellons is being held in the Sullivan County Jail on a $50,000 bond. The case is still under investigation and other witnesses or victims with information are asked to call Detective Jimmy Dillard at 423-968-1426 or email jdillard@bristoltn.org.
