Washington County, Tennessee, offices are now back open with precautions for COVID-19.

There was a long line for car license plate renewals all day.

Everyone is screened for their temperature before entering the building. Masks are not required, but there are reminders of social distancing and barriers between employees and the public.

"It's good to have the courthouse back in operation,” Mayor Joe Grandy said. “I think the faster we get back to a normal routine, the better off we are, get our economy going again, get our businesses open."

County leaders remind people that license plates can be renewed online or by mail. Tags that expired in March, April or May do not have to be renewed until June 15.
