Albany citizens making their voices heard through peaceful protests

Across the nation and even in the smallest cities including Albany GA people are making the message clear.

“United we stand for peace“

“One hurts, we all hurt “

“Honk if you love Albany“

These are the signs displayed throughout the city Of Albany on Wednesday as protesters continue to fight against racial inequality and police brutality.

Albay native in attendance, Joy Spencer stated that watching the video that went viral of George Floyd was an abolition to the human race, and should make everyone feel inclined to stand up against this reoccuring issue.

"I could not see it and it made me sick to my stomach.so, why wouldn't you be here after you saw that." stated Spencer.

There were several peaceful protest throughout the city within the last few days.

Several different people at each, all attempting to spread one overall message, love through unity.

Tiffany Branswell has attended multiple protest throughout the week.

Branswell says, its time for a change.

"It's sad to see our youth growing up hating police officers, hating white people," stated Branswell. "Nobody should be hating anybody, it takes more energy to hate than it does to love."

Brandon Bracy is the owner of Optimum Beauty and Barber.

Bracy took the time out of his schedule to protest for equality early Wednesday morning.

"It's very important that showing that are united and we do stand strong together," stated Bracy. " Albany is a resilient city we've been through so much and I guarantee you we won't stop now."
