Mainers should brace for bitter cold and then some more snow this weekend.

There is a Wind Chill Advisory in effect until 9 a.m. Friday morning for northern Maine and New Hampshire and parts of western Maine. Wind chills will drop as low 30 below zero. The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite in as little as 10 minutes.

Sun will rule the sky Friday, but temps will stay in the teens. Winds will gust 20 to 30 MPH.

Saturday will feature fading sun. Our next weather maker will bring snow to the area Saturday evening through early morning Sunday.

Most areas can expect 4-7 inches of snow. Higher amounts are expected in western Maine.

Expect partial clearing Sunday and breezy conditions.

The pattern becomes quieter next week but colder temps will rule. We're probably headed for the coldest temps of the season so far. Stay tuned.
