Body of 12-year-old boy found in Dover river

DOVER (WGME) – The Dover Police Department is investigating the death of a 12-year-old boy.

Police say Nathaniel Boily was last seen Thursday afternoon leaving Dover Middle School.

His family members contacted Dover police when he did not return home.

Police say they conducted a missing persons investigation through the evening and overnight.

Friday morning, police searched near the Bellamy River in the area of Back River Road and Central Avenue in Dover. Evidence from the scene suggested that Boily fell through the ice.

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department’s Dive Team found Boily in the water at 1 p.m. Friday, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the death appears to be an accidental drowning.
