Maine candy shops remain open for orders before Easter weekend

WESTBROOK (WGME) -- Easter is this weekend, and the Mainers who celebrate will likely be doing so at home.

Easter is normally one of the busiest times of the year for candy makers.

Some shops, like Haven's Candies in Westbrook, remain open for mail orders as well as call-ahead curbside business.

"This is definitely one of our busiest seasons,” Allison Holt of Haven’s Candies said. “It's sad to be in the situation we're in right now, but we're making the best of it with lots of phone orders, our curbside pickup. Lots of UPS shipping. The phone's ringing off the hook, which is great, great thing."

According to a "Retail Me Not" survey, Cadbury Eggs were the most popular candy in Maine last year.
