PORTLAND (WGME) – Maine State Police are sharing the story of one of their troopers helping a family in need.
Police say Angela Levesque was picking up her children from their grandmother’s house when a tire on her car blew out on the highway.
Levesque’s roadside assistance said there would be a 3-hour wait for help, and there wouldn’t be enough room in the tow truck for all of her children.
That’s when Levesque called state police.
“They were absolutely amazing,” Levesque said. “The dispatcher assured me that myself and my children will be fine and that they would take care of things for me.”
Trooper Cody Haverly-Johndro arrived on scene and drove two of the children to the garage while Levesque and another child rode in the tow truck.
“Please don’t take our state troopers for granted, they are here to help us when we need it most,” Levesque said. “Thank you, not for only helping myself and my kids, but for your services and things you have to deal with on a daily basis.”
