New Hampshire airman dies in non-combat related incident

RICHMOND, N.H. (WGME) -- The Department of Defense says a member of the United States Air Force from New Hampshire died in a non-combat related incident, according to WBZ-TV.

Staff Sgt. Albert Miller died Friday at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

The 24-year-old was from Richmond, New Hampshire.

The Department of Defense says Sgt. Miller died in a non-combat incident as part of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.

According to the Boston Globe, Operation Freedom’s Sentinel is intended to provide assistance to Afghan security forces and to continue the United States’ “counterterrorism mission against the remnants of Al Qaeda.”

Officials say the incident is under investigation.

His body arrived at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware early Sunday, according to WBZ-TV.
