One dead after teens lose control, crash in New Hampshire

BATH, NH (WGME) -- A teenage girl is dead after a car driven by another teen lost control and struck a tree in New Hampshire Sunday, according to the New Hampshire State Police.

Investigators said the crash happened just before noon Sunday along River Road in the town of Bath, NH.

According to first responders, the SUV involved in the crash was occupied by three juveniles, two boys and a girl, all under the age of 17.

State Police believe the SUV was being driven south on River Rd when the operator lost control, went off the right side of the roadway and struck a large tree with the right, rear passenger door.

The juvenile girl in the back seat sustained serious injures during the crash and died at the scene.

According to police, the two male occupants were taken to local area hospitals to be treated for 'significant' injuries but are expected to make a full recovery.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation and the New Hampshire State Police are urging anyone who may have witnesses what happened to call them at (603) 223-8993.
