PORTLAND (WGME) – The Portland streets are in much better shape than they were earlier Friday.
The high tide and the flood waters receded Friday afternoon, but another high tide can be an issued later Friday night, but much of Friday, there was a combination of high tide, long-lasting rain, and snow melt, perfect for flooded streets.
Earlier Friday, streets were flooded outside the Whole Foods, and some were closed.
In Scarborough, the Clambake seafood restaurant’s parking lot was underwater.
Looking ahead to overnight, high tide comes in again after midnight.
It is still rainy along the coast, and the rain should continue for a while.
Conditions should be much better off than they were Friday.
Still, coastal areas should be mindful of splash over and more possible flooding.
