PORTLAND (WGME) -- A Saco woman suffered multiple injuries Saturday morning after a car struck a motorcycle on the Maine Turnpike in Portland.
Maine State Police said the accident happened around 6:30 a.m. at mile 46 in the turnpike's northbound lanes, which remain closed as of 9:50 a.m.
Diane Sprague, 42, was a passenger on a motorcycle which struck debris from a car after it struck a concrete barrier in front of the motorcycle.
Police said the driver of the car, Norman Watson, 22, of Windham, fell asleep before hitting the barrier.
The front bumper from Watson's car was ripped off and landed in the path of the motorcycle, which was driven by Ronald Boucher, 46, of Saco.
Boucher suffered minor injuries.
The Maine Turnpike in the area of the accident was closed for four hours Saturday morning.
